We offer our deepest condolences to the family of Peter Maier-Oswald who recently passed away. Peter Maier-Oswald was Consul General in Vancouver from 1996 to 2000.

Maier-Oswald, who lived to the age of 86, had a long career representing Germany since he joined the German Foreign Service in 1963. In total, he had 8 postings abroad, the last of those being his 4 year stay in Vancouver before retiring in 2000. He performed his duties with a great deal of personal commitment, detailed expertise as well as tact and sensitivity. His modest but determined demeanor and his sociability were greatly appreciated by everyone who knew him and he will be remembered by all those who worked with him.
