The Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB) and the Canada Media Fund (CMF) have selected three interactive digital media projects for joint funding, totaling around 400,000 euros. This funding is part of the Canada Germany Digital Media Incentive Program, which for the past six years has been supporting co-productions and developments in the realm of digital content between Canadian and German producers from the capital region of Berlin-Brandenburg.

The projects intended for funding must be developed for distribution on digital platforms and can belong to the fields of games, serialized formats, multi-platform projects, or VR/AR experiences.

The following three projects will receive funding this year:

  • dA.l.ting: Internet of Flings: This game, co-produced by Red Meat Games from Nova Scotia and Honig Studios, will receive nearly 200,000 euros in production funding.
  • An Empty Seat: A VR experience co-production between the Quebec-based company art et essai and High Road Stories Heezen & Robbins has been granted 84,000 euros in development funding.
  • Wildermage: The Magic of Here: The game project created by Wildermage Games based in British Columbia and ootiboo, has been awarded 108,599 euros in development funding.

Since the Canada Germany Digital Media Incentive Program was launched in 2017, 18 interactive digital media projects have received over CAD$2.2M in funding.
