In October, the world was horrified by the attack perpetrated by Hamas in Israel, which had a profound impact globally.

Chancellor Scholz immediately traveled to Tel Aviv and Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock met with her counterparts in Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt. In Germany, there were demonstrations against anti-Semitism and German President Frank Walter Steinmeier declared the protection of Jewish life in Germany a civic duty.
