RISE Germany & RISE Professional Internships

The application window to DAAD's popular RISE programs offering internship opportunities to students in the Natural Sciences and Engineering will open on October 15 and remain so until November 30, 2023.

RISE Germany provides 10-12 week summer research internships to undergraduate students in the lab of a German doctoral candidate. The working language in the lab is English.

RISE Professional is geared towards Master's and PhD-level students along with recent Bachelor graduates in the same fields wanting to carry out an internship in a German workplace. In addition to English-language workplaces, applicants with German language skills will find more opportunities open to them. These internships can run anywhere between 10 weeks and six months in length.

University Summer Course Grant

DAAD's University Summer Course Grant facilitates the participation of German language students in a 3-4 week summer program offered by a German university.

This program is open to students from all fields of study and at all levels (Bachelor, Master's or PhD). Applicants must have completed at least one year of university-level German instruction or equivalent by the time they travel to Germany.

The deadline for applications to participate in summer school in 2024 is December 1, 2023.
