Chutzpah! Festival 2023

The Chutzpah! Festival is a performing arts festival hosted by the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver at the Norman Rothstein Theatre each year.
In 2023 the festival takes place between November 2nd and November 23rd.

I Have My Mother’s Eyes: A Holocaust Memoir Across Generations
Chutzpah! Festival, The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre and The Powell Street Festival Society presents the Chamber Opera Premiere I Have My Mother’s Eyes: A Holocaust Memoir Across Generations.
Experience the premiere of Rita Ueda's chamber opera about Chiune Sugihara, the Japanese diplomat who risked his own life to grant visas to Jewish families during the Holocaust, including the Bluman family of Vancouver.

Love Gets a Room
Presented with the Vancouver Jewish Film Festival
Love Gets a Room is the story of a Jewish stage actress who must make the gut-wrenching decision to follow her heart or to escape the Warsaw ghetto. Told in real time like director Rodrigo Cortés' acclaimed Buried, the film is a romantic tale of love and survival in the face of harrowing circumstances.
