Foreign Language Assistantships: Pedagogical Exchange Office

The Pedagogical Exchange Office (PAD) offers recent graduates of Canadian Bachelor programs the opportunity to complete a 9-month placement as an English language assistant in a German school.
Assistants must have at least A2 level German and work 12 hours week in class helping with conversation and oral practice of English. Program participants receive a cost of living allowance to cover basic expenses.

This year's application deadline is February 28, 2024.

Networking Tour in Artificial Intelligence

DAAD's AInet offers outstanding international early career researchers in the field of AI the chance to interact face-to-face with leading researchers in Germany with the aim of initiating collaborations and creating new research and career opportunities. This includes a virtual networking week and one week in Germany to deepen the connections made there.

The next iteration of the AInet will begin this April with a focus on Safety & Security in AI.

Call: “Germany Today” Information Tour

DAAD’s “Germany Today” Information Tour is designed to give participants a broader overview of Germany’s higher education landscape. This year’s tour will run from June 16-21, 2024 and focus on the opportunities and challenges faced by German universities in the broader context of society, the workforce, and a rapidly evolving geopolitical environment.

DAAD invites representatives from universities, research institutions and funding agencies in the United States and Canada, as well as colleagues from the fields of education policy and politics, to join us for our “Germany Today” Information Tour 2024.
