German International School Toronto is the city's only full-time German-speaking school and offers a truly international learning experience for both German- and English-speaking children. With a focus on languages, the school provides a unique learning environment, academic excellence and a curriculum compatible with both the Ontario and European systems. Small class sizes, an array of cultural events and extracurricular programs including drama, art and music, allow students to thrive and excel. Being part of the world-wide family of German Schools Abroad, it offers a very attractive alternative to other Canadian independent schools.

The German International School Toronto is a not-for-profit corporation under Ontario law and is one of the 130 recognized German schools abroad, supported by the Federal Office of Administration-Central Agency for Schools Abroad located in Cologne / Germany. The Federal Republic is posting two full-time teachers and a principal to complement the school team.

In September 2013, the German International School Toronto moved into the main floor of the former Kent Senior Public School. The site at 980 Dufferin Street is conveniently located close to Bloor Street, with the Dufferin Subway Station close by. The spacious building offers bright, generously sized classrooms for Kindergarten up to Senior Grades, a gym and large outdoor areas as well as plenty of space for music, arts and labs for hands-on science classes.
