Please note: New EU regulations regarding property in marriage or partnership

On January 19th, 2019, two EU regulations (EuGüVO and EuPartVO) came into force, which define which law is to be used to determine the property right in marriage or partnership. In reaction to the increased mobility and the growing number of both bi-national marriages and partnerships as well as people with multiple nationalities, the new regulation contribute to the standardization of international private law in the EU.
