Organized by the Consulate General of Switzerland in Vancouver and European National Institutes for Culture Canada-Vancouver, the next meeting with the EU Book Club will be about the Swiss novel “One another” by Monique Schwitter.

When a writer googles the name of her first love and discovers he committed suicide years ago, she is deeply shaken. Memories of Petrus begin to flood into her mind, followed by the memories of other loves, one after another. What exactly is love? How does it come and go? She begins to search her personal history for answers. Twelve men. Twelve chapters in a novel.

The novel was short-listed for the German Book Prize and received the Swiss Book Prize 2015. In 2016, it was awarded the Swiss Literary Prize. The European Book Club will be held in the residence of the Swiss Confederation. Admission is free, but registration is mandatory by email: eubookclub@alliancefrancaise.ca.
