Germany’s public international broadcaster Deutsche Welle is carrying out the 12th annual Global Media Forum, a conference which aims to provide a platform for intercultural exchange and discussions about pressing global issues.

As the principle of multilateralism is slowly being eroded and people in many countries have lost their trust in international institutions and democratic systems, this year’s focus is Shifting Powers. The Global Media Forum 2019 will explore the impact of shifting power structures on the international media landscape and evaluate opportunities and challenges arising from digitalization.
