The German Academic Exchange Service DAAD supports faculty at Canadian universities wishing to conduct a research stay in Germany of between one and three months in length. Supporting short-term research stays and thus the promotion of the exchange of experience and networking amongst colleagues is the aim of this particular program.

The program is open to scholars in all fields and there is no German language requirement, provided this is not necessary for the activity being proposed. Research stays can be carried out at state or state-recognized institutions of higher education or non-university research institutes (incl. archives and libraries). The grant provides a monthly living allowance of EUR 2,000 for assistant professors and EUR 2,150 for associate professors and full professors.

Application deadline is May 15, 2019 (for stays beginning between October 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020).
