This year, Vancouver’s Christmas Market celebrates its 10th anniversary. The tradition of Christmas Markets traces back to the late medieval times. At that time the markets served to provide the citizens with meat and winter supplies at the beginning of the cold season. In the 14^th century, it was customary to allow artisans such as toy makers, basket weavers or confectioners to set up stalls for the trifles that the children were given for Christmas. There were also stalls with roasted chestnuts, nuts and almonds.

Get into Christmas spirit at Vancouver’s Christmas Market while enjoying a mug of warming Glühwein and discover the variety of specialties from all over the world.
