Last week, German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl was awarded the Hart Memorial Trophy as “Most Valuable Player” in the strongest ice hockey league in the world. This was announced by the National Hockey League on the sidelines of the final series of the Stanley Cup. The 24-year-old player from Cologne is the second professional athlete from Germany after basketball player Dirk Nowitzki, who has the honor of being the most important player in one of the major US sports leagues.
