“Écrire en français” – Marguerite Andersen, Christian Guay-Poliquin and Diane Carmel Léger in conversation with Angela Spizig.
The literary event series #CanLit Interviews – Exploring the World of Canadian Books invites Canadian authors to present their works recently translated into German. The dual objective of the series is to enable the discovery of new books while providing an opportunity to become familiar with the many facets of Canadian literature. In the second episode, we meet Canadian authors from the official delegation who all write in French but are very different. In conversation with Marguerite Andersen, Christian Guay-Poliquin and Diane Carmel Léger, we learn about different biographies, regions of Canada and stories. The conversation will be conducted in French by moderator Angela Spizig. English subtitles will be provided. Again this time, the three newly published books in German translation will be presented by enthusiastic readers from the German book trade: Berlin bookstore ocelot, not just another bookstore (Magda Birkmann), Hundt Hammer Stein in Berlin (Kurt von Hammerstein) and international book store in Leipzig Polylogue (Laure Le Cloarec).
The event series is part of Canada’s literary program related to Canada’s Guest of Honour presentation at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2021. All episodes are available for re-watch on the Embassy’s YouTube channel.
