Beethoven & Liszt: A Musical Affinity features Belgian-based, multi-award-winning, fortepiano virtuoso Olga Pashchenko in a concert that explores the kinship between the music of Franz Liszt (1811 – 1886) and that of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827). Liszt was a great admirer of Beethoven and is credited with giving the first public performance of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 29, Op. 106. It was also the last sonata he ever performed, and one he so admired that he taught it to his students. This evening's concert includes this very Beethoven sonata and selected pieces by Liszt.
