The 25th European Union Film Festival will take place in Vancouver from November 17 to December 1, 2022. This year's festival will showcase entries from all 27 EU member states.

In a show of solidarity with Ukraine, this 2022 edition of the EUFF includes a special presentation of the acclaimed Ukrainian film Klondike, Ukraine’s submission to the Academy Awards, organized in partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine to Canada. Proceeds from the Vancouver screening will benefit the Maple Hope Foundation, a Canadian not-for-profit organization committed to helping people suffering from the war in Ukraine.

Each film will screen theatrically at The Cinematheque, with a majority of titles becoming available to rent online at euffonline.ca in the days following their in-person presentations.

The German contribution to this year's EUFF is the film “No One's with the Calves” by Sabrina Sarabi:

SYNOPSIS

24-year-old Christin lives on the farm of her long-term boyfriend Jan in a small town in in north-eastern Germany. The exciting post-reunification years that defined her childhood are long gone. Her relationship is loveless. In the shimmering heat of summer, time seems to stand still – until 46-year-old wind energy engineer, Klaus, arrives.
