The Saskatchewan German Council  warmly invites you to the Community Heritage Day in Moose Jaw for the presentation “A Life in Science” about the Nobel prize winner Gerhard Herzberg, presented by Dr. Rainer Dick, professor in the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at the U of S.

German Canadian physicist Gerhard Herzberg performed trailblazing research during his time in Saskatoon and laid the groundwork for receiving his Nobel prize in Chemistry. During the presentation, hear about his scientific and personal journey.

This presentation compliments the Herzberg 50 traveling exhibit, Enterprises of the Human Spirit: 50 Years of Scientific Excellence in Germany and Canada, which will be on display at the WDM Moose Jaw from January 31 to February 24, 2023.

Community Heritage Day in Moose Jaw
Community Heritage Day will take place on Saturday, February 11th, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw to celebrate the heritage of the country, province and city. German Canadian contributions include the Herzberg presentation, the documentary screening of “The Newcomers” by German Canadian Theresa Kliem, as well as displays by “Das Schulhaus” - Regina German Language School and the SGC.

Events are free with museum admission; WDM members are free.
