Thomas E. Schultze is our new Consul General. He arrived on September 13 and has had a tremendously busy schedule right from the start including meetings with representatives of various public institutions, stakeholders of Ontario’s research community and incubators on topics such as Artifical Intelligence and Life Science. Mr. Schultze also met with key players on the migration and integration topic and intends to foster German-Canadian exchange in this regard. He has also continued the close relationship to the Jewish community Toronto. In September and October, he welcomed several delegations from the German states of Saxony, Baden-Württemberg, Lower Saxony as well as Federal Minister of Education and Research, Ms. Anja Karliczek, who was his guest of honour during this year's reception on the occasion of German Unity. For the first time, our new Consul General also laid down a Franco-German wreath together with his French colleague at Queen’s Park during the Remembrance Day ceremony, symbolizing the close bond of the two countries.
