Twice a year we are discovering these German roots during our public German Walk. The next one will take place on Saturday, May 27.

Toronto is a city of neighbourhoods, and many of them have an ethnic history. Cabbagetown, Chinatown, Little Italy, Little India, Roncesvalles Village (Polish), or The Danforth (Greek) are just some examples. While Germans in Toronto do not have one particular neighbourhood to call their own, many German influences can be found across the city.

This walk will be in English, guided and narrated by the prolific Toronto historian Bruce Bell. It will feature a two-hour tour through the German roots of Toronto, followed by a visit to the Goethe-Institut’s Doors Open Day (see below).

Free registration is available. If you RSVP, please be mindful and be sure to attend or cancel in time if you cannot in order to accommodate others.
