Welcome
Goethe-Institut Toronto Kids October 2024
As we get ready for the cozy season of the year, The Goethe-Institut has prepared lots of opportunities to meet up and speak German in a fun and welcoming environment.
The “Kinderklub” at the Goethe-Institut stands for all our kids and family-friendly events that you can join for free.
NEW: One hour before the event begins, we will get together to mingle and make use of the many games and books the Goethe-Institut has to offer. The “Parents Mingle and Board Games” will give parents and children the opportunity for a relaxed arrival at our premises and to catch up with old friends and new acquaintances in our community. Sign up for free before each Kinderklub-event. Very young children are welcome, too 😊
Fri, October 11, 9 AM-4 PM: Camp Go Goethe!
The next PA-Day is scheduled, and we are happy to announce that the Goethe-Institut Toronto will be hosting a PA-Day Camp again!
Under the motto “Goethe goes Fashionable” we are going to look at various aspects of our everyday wear and current trends, such as identity, comfort, creativity, and sustainability.
Also planned is a field trip to the Bata Shoe Museum via subway to find out more about shoes in modern and ancient times, and we will be crafting our own jewelry/key chains from bio-degradable beads with the help of German artist Paula Hartmann.
Hopefully, your child can join for a fun-filled day of exploring the fascinating universe of human attire.

Sat, October 19, 3:30 PM-5:30 PM: Family Movie
Join us for the screening of Sieger Sein (Winners), the award-winning 2024 German film that follows the inspiring journey of eleven-year-old Mona.
After fleeing Syria with her family, Mona finds herself at a primary school in Berlin, where she struggles with the language but shines on the soccer field. With the support of her teacher and her aunt, Mona's passion for football opens new doors – though teamwork proves just as challenging as adapting to her new life.
Directed by Soleen Yusef and awarded Best Children's Film at the German Film Awards 2024, Sieger Sein is a powerful story about resilience, teamwork, and finding one's place.
The movie will be presented in German with English subtitles. Recommended for ages 10 +.
