At these years 50th Toronto International Film Festival, taking place from September 4 to 14, 2025, 20 German productions and co-productions will be represented across six sections.

The German production “Babystar” (LiseLotte Films) by Joscha Bongard will celebrate its world premiere in the Discovery section, while “Franz” by Agnieszka Holland will premiere in Special Presentations.

Other highlights include Christian Petzold’s “Miroirs No. 3” (Centerpiece), Mascha Schilinski’s “Sound of Falling” (In die Sonne schauen) and Ildikó Enyedi’s “Silent Friend”, both screening in Special Presentations.

The Wavelengths section will showcase the co-productions “Dry Leaf” by Alexandre Koberidze and “With Hasan in Gaza” by Kamal Aljafari. Edward Berger will present his new film “Ballad of a Small Player.”
