Deutsche Sprachschulen (Metro Toronto) Inc. (DSS) is a not-for-profit organization that has been offering German Saturday school programs for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 since 1956.

The new school year is starting in Mid-September at all three locations (DSS Scarborough, DSS Richmond Hill and DSS Toronto Central West), and there is still time to register. On 30 Saturday mornings (excluding long weekends and holidays), the students will learn the German language and culture according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). German enthusiasts of all levels from Kindergarten to Grade 12 are welcome. NEW: this year, they also offer adult classes for conversational German at most of our locations.

Three students- one from each location - qualified for the continental final (North America) of the German debating youth competition “Jugend Debattiert”. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for them when participating in the final at the end of October.

DSS is celebrating their 70th anniversary in 2026. In preparation for that, they are looking for alumni from all previous locations (Etobicoke, Rexdale, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Toronto Stadt, West Hill, Weston, and Willowdale).
