On Saturday, June 6th, all alumni, students, parents and teachers are invited to a tri-school picnic and soccer tournament. The schools will have lots of fun games, good food and memories to share, and rekindle the excitement of learning German together for the next 70 years.

If you previously attended any of the (former) German Saturday schools in the GTA (Etobicoke, Rexdale, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Toronto Stadt, West Hill, Weston, and Willowdale), please reach out to alumni@dssgta.org to find out more or sign up.

We are delighted to share that students from the German language schools in Richmond Hill, Toronto Central West, and Scarborough successfully participated in the regional finals of the German youth debating competition “Jugend debattiert”. Their achievements are a testament to the dedication and excellence of their teachers, whose commitment to German language education continues to inspire students to engage with the language beyond the classroom.

We are especially proud that five students have been selected to represent the region at the North American continental finals, which will take place in Toronto this fall. We congratulate all participants on their outstanding performance and wish the finalists every success in the next round.

We would also like to highlight that the German language schools in Richmond Hill, Toronto Central West, and Scarborough are currently seeking enthusiastic and creative German teachers to join their teams. Ideal candidates are passionate about teaching German language and culture, enjoy working with children and young people, and value collaboration with colleagues and families. Classes take place on Saturday mornings throughout the academic year. Those interested are encouraged to contact the relevant school management.
