Ein Sommer in Italien offers an intimate look at West Germany’s journey to glory on Italian soil, occurring just as the Berlin Wall fell. Utilizing exclusive, never-before-seen 8mm footage filmed by legendary coach Sepp Maier, the documentary reveals the raw humanity and humor of the squad behind the scenes. From sun-drenched stadiums to emotional reflections from icons like Lothar Matthäus and Andreas Brehme, the film celebrates the synergy between German determination and Italian hospitality, capturing the magical nights that united a reunifying nation through the beautiful game.
