Deutsche Sprachschulen GTA: Early Registration for 2026/27 School Year and 70 Year Anniversary Celebrations

The Deutsche Sprachschulen (Metro Toronto) Inc. (“DSS”) is a not-for-profit organisation that has been operating German Saturday schools (KG to Grade 12) since 1956.

The school year at DSS came to its great finale - if you want to be part of it next year, registration for 2026-27 is officially open! Early registration ends August 1st. For details, see our website: https://www.dssgta.org/admissions
Tip: Our Scarborough and Toronto Central West (Etobicoke) locations will also offer adult classes in 2026-27.
During the first week of June, we had a week of celebrations to honour our 70-year anniversary.
On Wednesday, June 3rd, The Consul General of Germany, Anne Wagner-Mitchell, invited our principals, teachers, and class helpers to a reception at the Consulate General, recognizing their essential roles in the German Saturday Schools fostering German language and culture in Toronto, and our longstanding collaboration with the Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen to offer official German language certificates.
On Saturday, June 6th, nearly 250 DSS alumni, students, parents and teachers participated in a wonderful tri-school picnic and soccer tournament. Families enjoyed games like Eierlauf, Sackhüpfen and Tauziehen, perused our 70th anniversary yearbook, and enjoyed a beautiful day in the sunshine. What a wonderful opportunity to get together as a community!
Many thanks to all our generous volunteers, friends and families who traveled the extra distance to celebrate 70 years of learning German in the Greater Toronto Area.
We are seeking enthusiastic and creative German teachers to join our dedicated teams of educators. The ideal candidates are passionate about teaching the German language and culture, enjoy working with children and teens, and value collaboration with colleagues and families. Classes are Saturday mornings for three hours throughout the academic year. If you are interested, please contact the relevant school management.
