This August, the Manitoban German-Canadian Congress (GCC) invites you to join us in Folklorama, the world's largest and longest-running multicultural festival. This year, Folklorama celebrates its 55th anniversary, alongside the German pavilion which has been a part of the show since the beginning . The German Folklorama Pavilion in Winnipeg is organized and operated by the German Cultural Association Inc. (GCA), founded jointly in 2023 by the Manitoban German Canadian Congress and the German Society of Winnipeg. A different theme is announced each year, with this year's theme being Berlin. From the Folklorama German Pavilion webpage :
“Come experience the rhythm and spirit of Berlin! Blending traditional German folk performances with modern music and dance inspired by the city’s creative scene, this year’s show celebrates Berlin’s rich heritage and contemporary energy and will inspire you to get up and dance!”
The German pavilion is located at West Kildonan Collegiate, 101 Ridgecrest Ave. Showtimes run from Sunday, August 2nd to Saturday, August 8th. Plan your visit here by following this link.
