At a time when Europe’s dependence on the United States in defence is increasingly exposed to geopolitical uncertainty, the discussion will explore Europe’s evolving role within the Alliance, the implications of shifting US policies, and the growing imperative for Europe to strengthen its own military capabilities while preserving NATO as the cornerstone of collective defence.

Particular attention will be given to what role emerges for Canada as a close transatlantic partner within NATO.
