Early Music Vancouver: The Consone Quartet Returns to Vancouver

Early Music Vancouver (EMV) welcomes back the Consone Quartet on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at Christ Church Cathedral. After their sold-out Vancouver debut in 2023, the London-based ensemble returns with a program of Haydn, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and Czerny, performed on period instruments.
Praised by Sir Roger Norrington for their “perfect intonation and impeccable historical style,” the quartet made history in 2022 as the first period instrument group chosen as BBC New Generation Artists. Their program traces the evolution of the string quartet—a genre that originated in Germany—with Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and Czerny at its heart.
