DAAD Scholarships

The German Academic Excchange Service (DAAD) has set the spring deadlines for a number of our programs supporting research stays in Germany. Details below and at the links.

April 30, 2026 - Research Grants in Germany (PhD / Postdocs)

May 1, 2026 - German Studies Research Grants (Bachelor, Master's & PhD students)

May 15, 2026 - Study Visits for Artists and Architects

May 15, 2026 - Re-Invitation Grant (for former holders of DAAD Study Scholarship or Research Grant six months or longer)

Applications Are Open: Arthur F. Burns Fellowship Program 2026

Journalists from Germany, the United States, and Canada are invited to apply for the 2026 Arthur F. Burns Fellowship Program – a unique opportunity to spend two months this summer as a guest correspondent at a host media organization abroad.
We encourage media professionals and alumni to share this opportunity within their networks and help us reach the next generation of Burns Fellows.

To mark its 50th anniversary in 2026, the Gerda Henkel Stiftung is launching a special funding programme: Prospect Utopia.

The programme supports postdoctoral researchers working on projects that focus on questions of successful social coexistence. Applications are welcome regardless of nationality or current place of work.

🔹 Up to €50,000 per project
🔹 Eligible fields include:
Archaeology · History · Historical Islamic Studies · Art History · Legal History · Prehistory and Early History · History of Science (Projects from other disciplines may be considered within the Foundation’s thematic special programmes.)
