Die St. Markus Gemeinde (St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church) in Vancouver lädt Ende Mai zu einem besonderen Film- und Begegnungswochenende ein – offen für Gemeindeglieder, Nachbarn, Freund*innen und Familien: “VAYA CON DIOS” mit Besuch und Gespräch mit dem Regisseur und Schauspieler Zoltan Spirandelli, der dafür aus Deutschland anreist.

Am 30. Mai findet die Filmvorführung in der St. Markus Kirche statt, anschließend gibt es ein Gespräch mit dem Regisseur.

Am 31. Mai folgt ein Gottesdienst mit Musik und Interview, begleitet von einem Sängerensemble.

Damit dieses Projekt gelingen kann, ist die Gemeinde auf Ihre Unterstützung angewiesen (Gesamtkosten ca. 4.000 CAD). Die drei Cantorianer-Mönche Benno, Tassilo und Arbo (Michael Gwisdek, Matthias Brenner und Daniel Brühl), die letzten eines aussterbenden Ordens verlassen ihr Kloster und machen sich auf den Weg in die Toskana, um die Ordensregel in die dort verbliebene Cantorianer-Abtei zu bringen. Doch der Weg dorthin ist lang und hält manche Umwege bereit. Berührend wie jeder seinem Weg der inneren Stimme folgt... Wird dieser am Ende sie wieder zusammenführen?

Film Project “VAYA CON DIOS” (May 30–31)

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (St. Markus Gemeinde) in Vancouver invites the wider community—congregation members, neighbours, friends, and families—to a special film-and-connection weekend at the end of May: a screening of “VAYA CON DIOS” with an in-person conversation with German director and actor Zoltan Spirandelli, who will be travelling from Germany for this event.

On May 30, the film will be shown at St. Mark´s Church, followed by a discussion with the director.

On May 31, there will be a worship service with music and an interview, accompanied by a vocal ensemble.

The film tells this story:
The three Cantorian monks Benno, Tassilo, and Arbo (Michael Gwisdek, Matthias Brenner, and Daniel Brühl)—the last members of a dying order—leave their monastery and set out for Tuscany to bring their rule of life to the remaining Cantorian abbey there. But the journey is long and full of unexpected detours. Moving and heartfelt, each of them follows the inner voice guiding his path… Will it finally bring them back together in the end?
