The German Canadian Business Association (GCBA) officially launched its new Alberta chapter with a well-attended and strongly business-focused event, led by Alexandra Liebrecht, Board Member and Director of the Alberta Chapter.

The opening marked an important step in further strengthening German–Canadian economic ties in Alberta. The evening brought together entrepreneurs, professionals, and representatives from government, industry, and innovation, creating a high-quality platform for exchange and cross-sector dialogue. Lively discussions continued well beyond the formal program, reflecting strong interest and a growing sense of community within the German–Canadian business ecosystem in the region.

Speakers at the event in Calgary included representatives from Invest Alberta, Lufthansa Technik, Rödl LLP, KF Digital Solutions Inc., and Spiegelbild Inc., alongside members of the German diplomatic community. In their remarks, Marc Eichhorn, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Vancouver, and Christina Hassan, Honorary Consul in Calgary, emphasized the role of the GCBA as a bridge between Europe and Canada. The opening of the chapter underscores Alberta’s increasing importance within the broader German–Canadian economic relationship and provides a solid foundation for future cooperation and network-building in Western Canada.
