Natja Brunckhorst’s Zwei zu Eins (Two to One, 2024) is a funny and warm-hearted comedy about money, friendship and the last days of East Germany. When three friends discover a stash of cash hidden in a bunker, they come up with a rather unconventional plan to spend it before it’s too late.

The film also brings together a veritable Who’s Who of German acting talent: Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall, The Zone of Interest), Max Riemelt (Sense8), Ronald Zehrfeld, Peter Kurth and Uwe Preuss. Seeing all these familiar faces in such a playful, funny film – with plenty of mischief and a twinkle in the eye – is a real treat.
