What does contemporary German-language literature have to say about identity and the idea of the self?
On October 22, J. Rafael Balling of the University of Washington will give a Tobin Distinguished Lecture at UBC on “German-language trans literatures of the ‘self’.” The lecture will explore contemporary trans literature in German-speaking contexts, including works by authors such as Kim de l’Horizon and N. O. Body.
The event is organised by UBC’s Centre for European Studies and the Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies. It is open to the public and will also be available online.
