Join the Vancouver German Language & Culture Group for a mudflat walk from Spanish Banks to the elusive Sherry Island on May 25.

This extraordinary walk promises an unparalleled view of nature and a new way to experience Vancouver!

Sherry Island is a tidal island that only appears every once in a while at very low tide. The group will meet at 12:00 noon sharp by the picnic tables located next to the last parking lot by the water on Spanish Banks, coming from the east. If you find yourself driving up into the forest, you've gone too far!

Please arrive on time, the hike can only take place during low tide!

What to Bring:

  • Full-length rubber boots or sturdy shoes ready to get muddy
  • Windbreaker and a hat for weather protection
  • A towel and an extra pair of socks
  • A water-resistant backpack
  • Water and snacks for a delightful picnic on Sherry Island (no alcohol)
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen to enjoy the sun safely

🐾 Pet-Friendly: Dogs are welcome to join the fun!

Weather dependent: The event depends on good visibility. In case of fog or heavy rain, the event will be canceled, which will be announced on the Meetup website. Please check the group's Meetup page for any last minute updates.
